New Assistant Clinical Director for Southern California Counseling Center

Marisa Ice, LMFT, who has served as our Client Coordinator and School-Based Program Director for the last several years has been promoted to Assistant Clinical Director of the Southern California Counseling Center effective July 1, 2017.  Starting in 2009, Marisa trained at SCCC before she was licensed and then came on staff in 2013.  She has brought innovation and efficiency to the client assignment process, helped to expand our LAUSD School-Based Counseling Program and has demonstrated excellent clinical judgement. SCCC hosts a screening of the documentary film Resilience

Marianne Diaz, Jonathan Vickburg, LMFT, Dr. Kim Cookson, and Clay Crosby, LMFT, participated in a panel discussion following the screening. The Southern California Counseling Center hosted a screening of the documentary film Resilience at the Arhya Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, February 8th.  Resilience, directed by James Redford explores the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the new trauma-informed movement to treat and prevent toxic stress.
