Saturday Workshop Series – Self Care: Building Resiliency, Hardiness, & Post Traumatic Growth with Mark Mitchell, LMFT
On Saturday, May 20, 2017 Mark Mitchell, LMFT presented a timely workshop for the SCCC community entitled “Self Care: Building Resiliency, Hardiness, & Post Traumatic Growth.” The event was part of our ongoing Saturday workshop series for SCCC counselors, supervisors and alumni.
Mark is a longtime SCCC faculty member and is always appreciated for his lively and interactive presentation style. He shared his extensive experience and helped workshop attendees develop skills to avoid burnout and build resiliency while working with traumatized clients. In addition to his education and training in clinical psychology, Mark is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Management in management development. He is a member of the Behavioral Health Team of the Los Angeles Collaborative that examines veteran services, best practices and evidence-based information. He provides staff development, creates seminars and provides coaching for veteran service and religious organizations. In addition, he has a private practice where he sees veterans and their families.
Next month Mark is moderating a day-long seminar entitled “Veterans Mental Health: Accessing Care, Engaging in Treatment and Healing” at Loyola Marymount University. Click here for more information about this important event.
